Kyle most recently served as a two-term Apopka City Commissioner for Seat 4 from 2016 to 2022. He was born and raised right here in Central Florida as a 5th generation Floridian, and has been a resident of Apopka for 15 years. Kyle grew up in Altamonte Springs and attended Lake Brantley High School where he played basketball and trombone in the marching band. He was also active in Boy Scouts as a youth, and attained the rank of Eagle Scout, an honor he is proud of and credits with laying the foundation for the value system he carries in his personal and professional life to this day.
After high school, Kyle attended and graduated from Tusculum University in Greeneville, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management, where he also played NCAA Division II basketball on an athletic scholarship. Tusculum is a Civic Arts school, and Kyle valued the time he spent serving in various veteran service centers, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters in the greater Johnson City area as part of the school’s service immersion curriculum.
After graduation, Kyle has spent most of his 20 year career in the financial and banking services technology industry, serving in various senior level analyst positions, and executive level positions in Fortune 500 companies. Kyle currently serves as Senior Vice President for a Central Florida-based bank. In his various roles, Kyle has managed teams of resources, successfully planned and executed $400MM+ capital budgets, and has provided critical insights to help his organizations successfully grow their business. Kyle has consistently received exceptional ratings during his professional career, and was the recipient of the CEO Leadership Award in 2016 while working at Finastra for his work on business performance insights and reporting which corporate executives used to make critical business decisions. In addition to his corporate experience, Kyle also serves as Vice Chair of the Board for Quest, Inc, a regional non-profit serving those with developmental disabilities.
Kyle and his wife Kelly, also a Florida native, have been married for 15 years, and are proud parents of three daughters Madelyn, Emily, and Lucy, who attend Apopka’s great public schools. The Becker family also have a furry family member, a Labrador Retriever named Gracie. Kyle and his family are members of the First United Methodist Church of Apopka, where Kyle serves as the Staff Parish Relations Committee Chair.
Kyle Becker is registered Non-Party Affiliated (NPA), and feels this voting designation is appropriate when serving a non-partisan municipal position, where situational leadership and considerations need to be made absent party politics.
