About Kyle

Kyle Becker

Kyle has served two terms as Apopka City Commissioner for Seat 4, 2016-2022. He was born and raised right here in Central Florida as a 5th generation Floridian, and has been a resident of Apopka for nearly 15 years. Kyle grew up in Altamonte Springs and attended Lake Brantley High School where he played basketball and trombone in the marching band. Kyle was also active in Boy Scouts as a youth, and attained the rank of Eagle Scout, an honor he is proud of and credits with laying the foundation for the value system he carries in his personal and professional life to this day.

After high school, Kyle attended and graduated from Tusculum University in Greeneville, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management, where he also played NCAA Division II basketball on an athletic scholarship. Tusculum is a Civic Arts school, and Kyle valued the time he spent serving in various veteran service centers, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters in the greater Johnson City area as part of the school’s service immersion curriculum.

After graduation, Kyle has spent most of his 20 year career in the financial and banking services technology industry, serving in various senior level analyst positions, and most recently as Vice President, Product Development Executive at FIS, a Fortune 500 company. In this role, Kyle managed a team resources that successful planned and executed a capital budget of over $325MM annually for banking product investments. Kyle has consistently received exceptional ratings during his professional career, and was the recipient of the CEO Leadership Award in 2016 while working at Finastra for his work on business performance insights and reporting which corporate executives used to make critical business decisions. In addition to his corporate experience, Kyle also serves as Vice Chair of the Board for Quest, Inc, a regional non-profit serving those with developmental disabilities.

Kyle and his wife Kelly, also a Florida native, have been married for 15 years, and are proud parents of three daughters Madelyn, Emily, and Lucy, who attend Wolf Lake Middle and Wolf Lake Elementary schools. The Becker family also welcomed a furry family member this year, a Labrador Retriever named Gracie. Kyle and his family are members of the First United Methodist Church of Apopka, where Kyle serves as the Staff Parish Relations Committee Chair.

Kyle Becker is registered Non-Party Affiliated (NPA), and feels this voting designation is appropriate when serving a non-partisan municipal position, where situational leadership and considerations need to be made absent party politics.

Testimonials

Kyle has a keen analytical mindset, innate curiosity and a desire to objectively “do the right thing”. This means he’s a very metrics based leader but also one that in my experience, strives to balance what the numbers are saying, with the context of the particular situation. This awareness is an intangible skillset that allows Kyle to stand apart from the rest. A leader of stand-up character, Kyle has always demonstrated a willingness to train, mentor, coach the skilled that his teams needed to not only survive, but thrive and deliver on their commitments.”

Vice President, Product Development

“I had the pleasure to work alongside Kyle for the last 2 years.  He was known for developing the people that worked for him as well as the people around him.  Kyle’s focus did not end within our organization, he lead activities to leverage our teams ability to give back to the communities where we work.  Kyle is driven, has an ability to make complex situation palatable but most important a level of integrity that drives the decisions he makes to ensure he is balancing the impact to not just the budget but the people.”
